Hybrid
A hybrid event allows you the freedom of attending an event online or in-person. This approach can be applied to most events and combines the plus points of both physical and virtual events. However, you will need to keep the level of engagement of your online audience on par with your in-person one. Otherwise, your online audience will quickly become disengagement and find your event underwhelming.
There are several ways that you can keep both your online as well as in-person audience engaged. Have live content broadcast for your online guests but record the content so that it can be watched again on-demand after the live broadcast. This is especially useful for both sets of audiences in case they missed out on something or just simply want to watch it over again.
Other ways you can occupy online and in-person participants alike would be tools to illicit feedback through Q&A and polling sessions. You can also create breakout rooms to hold separate breakout sessions so as to allow networking in smaller groups. This gives a more personal touch to your event and doesn’t make your attendees feel like they are just one of many watching a livestream behind a screen.
Yet another way you can keep your audience engaged in a hybrid event is to gamify it. It incentivizes your attendees to become active participants by adding game-like features to your event. For example, you attendees can complete challenges, receive points for each completed task, and see where they are on a leaderboard. Different tasks or challenges can attract any different amount of points and those who hit a target can be awarded prizes..
