Fernvale Gardens School Open House (FGS)
Fernvale Gardens School is a school for the Intellectually Disabled serving students aged 7 to 18. The school also has students with ASD. The school has a curriculum which covers literacy, numeracy as well as independent living and socialisation skills. It also includes vocational skills to help prepare students for work after schooling age.
Join us at Fernvale Gardens School Open House to learn about the programme we run for students with Intellectual Disability and ASD. Participants can join in activities which include learning dance and vocational skills in housekeeping as well as fine dining and cooking. Through these activities participants learn new skills and get a chance to work with our students. Work together with our students to pick up skills through our vocational programme!
Participants will understand the programmes we run as a special education school and the myriad of opportunities offered in such schools. They will also learn more about how the school engages students with ASD and give participants a glimpse of our vocational programme which helps prepare our students for life after school. Through this and an emphasis on building literacy and numeracy skills, the school aims to bring every student up to his full potential. After this engagement, participants will become more aware and receptive of students with special needs as they learn about their strength and abilities.
